“My life with beauty… let’s see. I mean, the thing I would say is that I just always wanted to be a writer. I wasn’t particularly interested in beauty. What I discovered as I became a writer is that everyone relates to beauty. You know, even the person who’s like, ‘I never wear makeup, I am totally natural,’ they have lots of Neutrogena, lots of Clinique, you know. And it’s something where people will talk about themselves at a much more personal level. When I was atElle, I would interview celebs and if you just ask them a question like, ‘So, who have you slept with?’ they’re not going to answer you. But if you’re like, ‘When is the first time you tried eyeliner?’ they’ll be like ‘Well…’ and they’ll tell you something pretty intimate about themselves. It’s a way that people connect. Like if you’re in the gym and some girl is putting on mascara, some other girl is like, ‘What is that mascara? Oh my God, it’s so good!’ People are very generous with each other about beauty. It’s a way people recognize humanity in each other, in a weird way. I mean, people can look at beauty and they’ll be like ‘Ah, beauty is the reason everyone is tortured and miserable in our society,’ but at the same time it’s a way people connect in every culture. It’s an easy thing to write about for that reason. You know? It’s always relevant. Everybody always cares! They want to look prettier—everybody does!"

POL Design SS 11/12
I'm also really loving pastel and gelati colours at the moment and especially how they're styled in such a tailored manner. I just really love tailored looks in general; preppy. Think Clemence Poesy, Olivia Palermo, Diane Kruger, Kate Bosworth ... There are probably two reasons as to this proclamation: 1) It looks snazzy. 2) It's effortless.
POL's upcoming collection combines all these components, making me one very happy homosapien. What I wish for now is for my hair to be as long as the model's - why, why did I cut it?! But enough lamenting, let me provide you another point of rejoice. POL recently sent me a jacket and, oh boy, I love it.
Yes, it probably won't keep me warm, but why bother with meteorology when you've got this goody wrapped around you*. But in all seriousness, this jacket is a dream. Gridded with cotton and lurex goodness, it sparkles and enamors more deeply than a seventeen-year-old vampire.
*thoughts such as these are probably why i'm currently sick again for the seven hundred and eighty-ninth time. approach with caution.
COCO ROCHA Regard félin, moue boudeuse et visage
Coco Rocha

Elle déménage, s'installe à New York, "The place to be" pour une mannequin en pleine ascension.
Coco is one of the only models who has spoken out
Coco is one of the only models who has spoken out against eating disorders in the modeling industry. In an email to the Associated Press, she gives an insight into the fashion world, saying: “I’ll never forget the piece of advice I got from people in the industry when they saw my new body … They said, ‘You need to lose more weight. The look this year is anorexia. We don’t want you to be anorexic but that’s what we want you to look like.’
Rocha married interior designer James Conran on June 9, 2010.The wedding dress was by Zac Posen. Rocha started her modeling career in 2004, signing with SUPREME in New York City. Two years later, Rocha met fashion photographer Steven Meisel. Her career in print skyrocketed her career, when she landed on the cover of the February 2006 issue ofVogue Italia. She has walked for a Anna Sui andMarc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Shiatzy Chen,Christian Lacroix, and Emanuel Ungaro, and was chosen by Marc Jacobs to open and close his Louis Vuitton shows in the past.
At the Jean Paul Gaultier‘s Scottish Highlands-inspired Fall/Winter 2007 show in February 2007, Rocha opened the show by Irish-dancing down the runway; American Vogue dubbed this the “Coco Moment” and suggested it as a sign that the fashion industry misses the “supermodels” Vogue Parisdeclared her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s.
In July 2010 Rocha appeared on vogue.co.uk every day for the entire month in the feature Today I’m Wearing she now had entered the realm of the style bloggers. She followed in the footsteps of Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo to showcase her fashion and style choices each day. The following month, Rocha appeared on a billboard in Times Square for an ad campaign with Marie Claire magazine in partnership with Project Runway in which she modeled a contestant’s winning design.

This past January Coco Rocha and Behati Prinsloo spent a lot of their downtime doing charity work inHaiti and worked with orphan-aid organizationLakayPAM, they have requested her followers help via Coco’s blog. “We want to take with us letters from people around the world to show the children of Haiti that they have global friends, real people who care about them. In return we will be bringing back with us their letters to you all.” Got a minute ? Pen a friendly note and send it to:
